‘The Good Wife’ Spoilers: Season 6 Brings Big Changes And New Faces

Season 6 of The Good Wife premieres soon, and fans are dying to get back into the swing of things. Many are still reeling from the death of Will Gardner in season 5, and surely Alicia, Diane, Kalinda and the rest are as well. Where do they all go from there? A few The Good Wife spoilers are available for what lies ahead, and fans won’t want to miss them.

Entertainment Weekly shared a The Good Wife spoiler preview that answers two big questions: Will Alicia Florrick run for State’s Attorney, and will Diane Lockhart really leave her firm to join Cary and Alicia? The answers, it seems are no and yes, or so it seems.

Alicia apparently doesn’t even want to leave the door open a crack when it comes to the possibility of running for Peter’s former office. She tells Eli Gold, “I’m never saying yes.” However, everybody knows that Eli can be terribly persuasive. Will he keep working on Alicia anyway, or find another potential candidate? Will Alicia change her mind?

As for Alicia, Cary and Diane, it looks like Florrick, Agos & Lockhart is a go. However, Cary might not be terribly happy about how it all comes together. With all of these big changes ahead, there will be new faces in the mix of things. Connie Nielsen, most recently of The Following, will be joining the show in a recurring role. According to TVLine, Nielsen will play an attorney named Ramona. It is said that she has “far-reaching Cook County connections,” and she will show up in the fourth episode of season 6.

Other newcomers include Private Practice star Taye Diggs and Frasier star David Hyde Pierce. This will be David’s first role since Frasier ended, and he will portray a cable news legal commentator. Apparently his character is highly respected, and he grows so upset with the Chicago murder rate and corruption issues that he runs for office.

Steven Pasquale, known by many for his role as Sean Garrity in Rescue Me, will also show up on The Good Wife, but only for a couple of episodes. He will be a campaign expert Eli pulls into the mix in case Alicia runs. That would seemingly indicate that Alicia’s “no” may not be as strong as the initial The Good Wife spoiler preview suggests.

In addition, both Kyle MacLachlan, as Josh Perotti, and Carrie Preston, who plays Elsbeth Tascioni, will be back to some degree. While Preston regularly steps back into the mix of things on The Good Wife, this time Tascioni and Perotti will cross paths once again and fans will surely love it.

It is easy to see that there is a lot happening in this new season of the show, with many new characters to track. Fans hope that the core components of what they love about the show, however, stay intact. There are always people coming and going on this show, but viewers love Alicia, Peter, Cary, Diane, Kalinda and the rest of the main group, and they want to see where they are all headed after all of these changes.

Season 6 of The Good Wife premieres on Sunday, Sept. 21 on CBS.
