Liberty Ross Forgives Kristen Stewart, Shows Grace In Cheating Scandal

It’s been two years since Liberty Ross learned her husband, Rupert Sanders, had an affair with Kristen Stewart. After retreating from the public for a time, while enduring the heartache from the cheating scandal, the English model broke her silence and has something to say: she forgives and holds no grudges against KStew and Rupert.

Liberty Lettice Lark Ross, 35, sat down with Bazaar recently and talked about her current life and projects she’s involved in. In the mag’s “Life of Liberty” September edition, Ross spoke openly about a moment she’d rather forget from two years ago.

Looking back to July of 2012 when Us Weekly published photos of Kristen and Rupert being intimate on a secret rendezvous, Liberty split with her husband shortly thereafter. Six months later, she filed for a divorce, which was finalized months ago.

During that time, her director husband and the actress, who starred in Rupert’s Snow White and the Huntsman, tried to atone by issuing separate public apologies. And who can forget Liberty Ross’ retort, which will go down in annals of history as the briefest and most dignified responses on Twitter to a spouse and the other woman: Wow!

Mind you, this was no ordinary occurrence of a man caught cheating with another woman; no, this was something more toilsome for the person on the receiving end: all three were tied to the film. Kristen Stewart was the lead and Ross played in the role of her mother, for crying out loud.

Fast-forward to today, and the British beauty is in another place rife with forgiveness. And she owes it all to her upbringing and two lovely children, Skyla, 9, and Tennyson, 7.

“Unfortunately, we live in a world where everything is so overexposed that it’s actually terrifying. I was horrified at how relentless and extraordinary going through something like that was. I was able to go and be somewhere secluded for a good month. And then when school went back, I had no choice but to be as strong a woman as I could be for the children.

People need to learn to forgive. I have no problem with anyone involved. I’m completely compassionate, I really am. No life is perfect, we all have our problems and issues and I believe that it’s good to be true to who you are.”

Liberty Ross and her husband have mended the pain between them, and have found solace in living apart. She gushed particularly about how the cheating calamity with Kristen Stewart hasn’t left a lasting impact on the kids.

“Rupert was very much part of my family, and still is – he was like another sibling. We’ll always have this amazing love for each other. I spent 17 years of my life with him. I have nothing but love and respect and compassion for him. He’ll always be my family, you know. We live close to each other, we continue to raise our children absolutely together, it’s really good.”

Despite the pain and end of her marriage, Ross said she wouldn’t change a thing. Instead, she believes people should take life by the horns and focus on the things they can change.

“I just feel so lucky and peaceful with everything in life, and excited and happy. I feel like I’ve been on a gigantic cleanse for a couple of years and now I’m all shiny and coming out the other side.”

Liberty is no longer married, but hasn’t ruled out the possibility of walking down the aisle again. For the past year, Ross has been dating Jimmy Iovine, the co-founder of Interscope Records and of Beats Electronics, who she describes as a very creative and “special” human being.

Today, she and her children are enjoying their time in Los Angeles, but she still has an affinity for her home back in Notting Hill childhood neighborhood. Luckily, her three siblings live and work in L.A. and Sunday is all about food and family.

“I’ve never not been with Rupert, basically. I went from living in my mum’s house to his apartment. I’ve never had my own space where I can do exactly what I want, put on the TV when I want, listen to music I want. It’s so gorgeous! I’m loving it.’ Her house is ‘bizarrely organised’, she says, citing as an example the cocktail-bar area that she has transformed into storage for the children’s art materials, with shelves labelled ‘glitter’ and ‘glue’. ‘Tidiness gives you such mental calm. I can’t sleep if the house is a mess.”

Liberty Ross is taking the plunge on high-fashion, continues to model and is working behind the scenes on an upcoming film that is similar to Breaking Bad.
