Jenny McCarthy, Newlywed: First Photo With New Hubby Donnie Wahlberg Shared

The first Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy newlywed photo was shared by the former The View star via Twitter, and fans think they look adorable. Jenny and Donnie got married over the weekend, and it sounds like they are blissfully happy.

McCarthy posted the cute photo and wrote, “Mr & Mrs Wahlberg, checking in from heaven. Thank you all for all of your well wishes. #happy.”

While many early reports had indicated that the two would get married in New York, ultimately that wasn’t the case. As People notes, McCarthy and Wahlberg wed at the historic Hotel Baker in St. Charles, Illinois.

Though Jenny and Donnie are big stars and this could have been a massive wedding, it seems the two wanted to keep things small and intimate. In fact, some of Donnie’s close family members were not in attendance. His brother,Mark Wahlberg, and Mark’s family stayed in California, and it was also said that Donnie’s mom Alma wouldn’t be there, apparently because she’s afraid to fly.

Things got pretty serious between Jenny and Donnie from the time they first met, with McCarthy joking early on that she might have to propose to him.

She says, “He’s the most amazing man, and we have become a great team.”

She also indicated to People that she planned to have her son, Evan, walk her down the aisle, rather than her father. Many fans may remember that Evan was also involved in Donnie’s proposal to Jenny in April. The couple dated for about a year before getting married.

This is the second marriage for both McCarthy, 41, and Wahlberg, 45. The Daily Mail notes that for the St. Charles event, McCarthy wore a Bergdorf Goodman wedding gown. Some photos of Jenny in her gown have made their way online, and she makes for a beautiful bride. The wedding took place Sunday evening, and apparently the ceremony itself lasted for about 20 minutes. Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy as newlyweds and their wedding attendees then moved into the hotel’s grand ballroom for the reception.

Though McCarthy has said she had a crush on the former New Kids on the Block singer since she was in middle school, now Donnie focuses mostly on his acting. He has a prominent role on the show Blue Bloods these days. As for McCarthy, she was recently fired from The View, but she already has her next gig lined up. She will be hosting a show called Dirty Sexy Funny on SiriusXM radio.
