Ashley Fonda, Alika Medeiros Get Married: ‘Dating Naked’ Stars Wed In Surprise Ceremony

Dating Naked stars Ashley Fonda and Alika Medeiros are married, and it will be shown in an upcoming episode of the show. The romance clearly developed quite quickly, but Ashley and Alika say they are completely in love. What’s the scoop on this surprising wedding?

People shares that Ashley Fonda and Alika Medeiros exchanged vows on August 6 in a ceremony in Los Angeles. Fonda, 27, and Medeiros, 36, wed in a non-traditional ceremony with a shaman officiating. Fans of Dating Naked will be able to see it all play out in the September 18 episode on VH1.

From the sounds of things, it was a very small ceremony, as their families weren’t even there. In fact, as of the news breaking via People, Ashley’s family didn’t even know she had gotten married. She says she wore a custom Nicholas Anthony gown, but they undressed for the ceremony.

Fonda says she’s “truly in love with Alika,” and she is “so excited to see where our relationship goes and grows.” As Gossip Cop notes, Ashley and Alika first went on a date for the show in May. Their date was a naked surfing excursion, and obviously it went quite well. It seems that Fonda and Medeiros are insisting that their marriage is for real, and wasn’t thrown together just for the show.

Of course, not everybody had such a positive experience doing Dating Naked. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, another contestant is suing over a scene involving her that wasn’t fully blurred when the show broadcast. Jessie Nizewitz has filed a lawsuit against VH1 and those involved in the production of the show. She claims that the unblurred shot showing her fully exposed has been quite detrimental to her personal life, and she wants big bucks in return for the incident. Fans will have to stay tuned to see what comes of that one.

While the premise of Dating Naked seems extreme and bizarre, it seems Fonda believes it’s all about female empowerment. Ashley told the Denver Post that her hope was that Dating Naked could give “young girls and women a more positive concept of the body.” She says that filming was challenging, but “it’s all rather humorous, to be honest.” From the sounds of things, filming was humorous along with becoming a vehicle to find love in the midst of a wild premise.
