Mark Wahlberg Tweets Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy

Mark Wahlberg tweeted Donnie Wahlberg and his new wife, Jenny McCarthy, on their wedding day on Saturday. According to Daily News, Mark Wahlberg opted to keep a prior commitment on the same day of the wedding – his own daughter’s 11th birthday party. Amidst rumors that Donnie Wahlberg’s brother didn’t like the bride, E Online reports that Mark created a lovely video on Instagram for the newlyweds and sent congratulations from the whole family, including his wife, Rhea Durham, and their four children.

According to E Online, Mark tweeted, “Congratulations @DonnieWahlberg and @JennyMcCarthy, so happy for you both today.” This seemed to counter the previously reported claims byTMZ that the couple didn’t want to attend the wedding due to hard feelings. Inquisitr adds that a few other family members did not attend the New York wedding either, including Donnie’s mom, Alma Wahlberg, and another brother, Bobby Wahlberg.

The wedding took place in New York as a small wedding with about 80 guests. After getting engaged in April, Boston Herald reports that this is the second marriage for both stars. The former New Kid On The Block and his “funnygal” met on Andy Cohen’s show, “Watch What Happens Live.” Donnie was married to Kim Fey for nine years and Jenny divorced John Asher in 2005. Both stars have children from their previous relationships.

While the small wedding was not attended by all family members, it seems that schedule conflicts attributed to their absence as indicated by Daily News. Wahlberg, 45, and McCarthy,41, enjoyed a beautiful day for their nuptials. Donnie Wahlberg also went to Twitter to express thanks for his brother’s video greeting on their wedding day: “Thank you @mark_wahlberg. Thanks to you & @rheadur for the adorable video for me & Jenny! Please wish a Happy B-Day to my god daughter Ella!”

The family has exhibited a unified front in the past, especially with the brothers partnering in the A&E reality show, Wahlburgers. With their 2011 restaurant opening in Boston and successful business partnerships, it is difficult to imagine that the siblings would intentionally miss out on family affairs. Paul Wahlberg, the chef and business partner for the successful show, did attend the wedding. Inquisitr reports that the Wahlburger restaurant is a “Boston meets Hollywood-themed burger” joint with a menu that includes prosciutto wrapped cod and veal tenderloin, too.

With successful music, television and movie backgrounds, it is no surprise that the Wahlberg clan would embark on a restaurant venture. The large family is surely accustomed to juggling multiple family gatherings across the country, too. Hailing from the Boston area and living celebrity lives in New York and Los Angeles, it seems the wedding and birthday party being held on the same day could not be avoided. Like many families, the Wahlbergs use social media to stay in touch and send congratulations.
