Apple’s New Devices Set To Be Unveiled Sept. 9

Apple’s new devices could be unveiled at an event slated for Sept. 9 in Cupertino, Calif., according to a CNN report.

In the CNN report, the Atlanta-based cable television station cited multiple reports in recent months that said the unveiling would likely be the long-rumored iPhone 6.

The news network said the latest generation of iPhone would likely have two distinct sizes to compete with other Asian phone manufacturers.

“Multiple reports over the past few months have suggested that Apple plans to roll out two versions of an iPhone 6 this year, with screens that are 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches, when measured diagonally.

“That would be a massive leap from the iPhone 5S and 5C’s 4-inch screens and an apparent move to battle competitors like Samsung and HTC who have been making bigger phones for years.”

But the biggest news at the Sept. 9 event will involve Apple’s new devices, namely the iWatch that is widely expected to be unveiled, according to CNN.

Even though the iWatch could be unveiled, Re/Code‘s John Paczkowski said the iWatch could be like other new devices previously released by Apple.

“It’s going to be a while before anyone is actually wearing it. Sources in position to know tell me it won’t arrive at market for a few months. ‘It’s not shipping anytime soon,’ said one. So when does Apple plan to ship its eagerly anticipated wearable? That’s not clear, but my understanding is that we’re unlikely to see it at retail until after the holiday season — think early 2015. Disappointing news for anyone hoping to put the device in a stocking come Christmas, but not unprecedented. Remember, Apple didn’t ship the first iPhone until six months after its January unveiling. Which is not to say that the gap between announcement and ship date will be that long, just that it would be unwise to expect preorders for the device to begin on the Friday following its unveiling. Apple declined to comment.”

Want to get a sneak peak at one of Apple’s new devices? Check out this article I ran earlier this summer where a Chinese celebrity got his hands on the latest iPhone model and posted photos to a social media site. It does not look too terribly different from what is already out there, but as Time points out, there are some cool new features on the phone. Five, to be exact. It’s definitely an article that’s worth the read.
