Apollo Nida Conviction: Reality Of Separating From Phaedra Parks And His Sons Loom

Apollo Nida has limited days enjoying his life of freedom before entering prison for a second time. The reality of separating from his wife, Phaedra Parks, and his kids for eight years loom. His official sentence date has been determined, as court documents reveal.

Nida is ordered to report to a Kentucky prison on September 10 by noon, according to Radaronline. Feds are ordering the Real Housewives of Atlanta husband to surrender himself at the FMC Lexington prison in Lexington.

Apollo is sentenced to eight years for bank fraud and identity theft. His sentence hearing was in July, an occasion of which Phaedra was absent for. Upon investigation, it was learned back in January that the RHOA star was linked to the crimes. As the report states, Apollo entered a plea in May after a number of “closed-door meetings with prosecutors.”

Following Apollo Nida’s conviction in July, his marriage to Phaedra Parks has been in the news. When Phaedra didn’t make it to his sentence hearing on July 8, he made some staggering comments about that.

He told B100 Radio soon after the hearing:

“I doubt [that my marriage will survive this]. My wife didn’t even f***ing show up for my sentencing. I’m still kind of salty about that.”

Nida claims to be remorseful about the crimes he’s been convicted of.

He says:

“I’m still human. At the end of the day, I am remorseful. Coming from a non-father, non-mother background, I feel most sad and disappointed that I let my little man down. But at the end of the day, it is what it is. You must go and pay and contribute to the piper and do what you gotta do and come on back and be graceful about it.”

Nida wants his bad experience with the law to serve as an example to other young men of what they shouldn’t do.

“Don’t do as I do, but take my experiences and hope that it will give you a better platform,” he said.

Although Apollo has been in prison before (six years for car theft), he didn’t have the family he does now. He has two sons with Phaedra; Ayden, 3, and Dylan, 14 months. The boys will be without their father for a large chunk of time. As for his marriage with Phaedra Parks, it’s hard to tell if they’ll make it before he gets out. A friend told In Touch magazine that if it weren’t for their children, Phaedra would have filed for divorce from Apollo Nida a long time ago.
