‘If Geek Girls Acted Like Geek Guys’ Reverses Genders For A Good Laugh [Video]

The YouTube video “If Geek Girls Acted Like Geek Guys” gives us a good chuckle while possibly raising awareness. In the viral video, a girl acts as a comic book store employee who won’t stop hitting on a guy who is only trying to browse.

The result, though amusing, is probably rather accurate.

Guys in this situation would usually be all too excited to have this happen unless they’re gay or already happily attached. Of course one way this video could be funnier is if the Overly Attached Girlfriend (AKA Laina) started in on him when he was done telling the female employee what was annoying him.

The video begins with the girl complaining to someone off camera:

“I’m so tired of these fake geek guys that are trying to impress us real nerd girls.”

It’s probably especially annoying when the guy has no idea what he’s talking about and just wants to do something with her other than read comic books. You know what he’s doing, and the girls are always barraged with it.

After a brief title screen, we get to see what would happen “if geek girls acted like geek guys.”

The girl approaches a guy looking through a Captain Marvel comic book and initially asks if he needs some help. Then she goes off on a stream of insulting suggestions as the guy starts getting frustrated.

She continues, “Who got you into comics? Was it your mom, your sister? It was a girl, right?”

The guy is starting to get a little angry as she continues to assault him with stupid and insulting questions. She even throws out “You must really like the Avengers because of Scarlett Johansson, right?”

By this point the guy has basically given up trying to read the comic book he was holding.

The guy finishes off the scene, “I just want to go to a comic book store once without getting hit on. Just once.”
