Lana Del Rey Dishes On Kim And Kanye’s Wedding: ‘It Was Beautiful’
Lana Del Rey famously performed during Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s wedding earlier this year. Now the singer has broken her silence about the event.
Depending on who you ask — apparently there are quite a few versions of the story floating around the internet — Lana received a hefty paycheck to sing at the couple’s big day. However, Del Rey insists that she didn’t accept any money to perform during the ceremony. While we’d love to take the songstress at her word, something smells slightly fishy about her kind-hearted gesture. But maybe that’s just us.
Although we may never know the truth behind Lana Del Rey’s payday, the singer recently took a moment to discuss the mind-boggling wonder of Kim and Kanye’s wedding. She doesn’t go into extreme detail about the ceremony, but Lana confirms what everyone has known for quite some time. In short: The whole shebang was nothing short of dazzling.

According to Lana, the wedding was quite memorable.
“It was beautiful, just being there. They seemed very happy… [Kanye told me] he really liked where I was coming from, visually and sonically.”
So how much money did Lana Del Rey allegedly accept to perform at the wedding? The Inquisitr previously reported that the singer took home a cool $2.8 million to belt out a total of three songs at some point during the ceremony.
Of course, it didn’t take long for Lana to shoot down these reports.
“I would never let a friend pay me to sing at a wedding, that would be crazy.”
One thing is for certain: Lana Del Rey does precisely what she wants, regardless of what other people may think. In fact, the singer recently revealed that she doesn’t write music for her fans. Instead, she creates music entirely for herself.

The fact that people enjoy listening to her tunes is just a pleasant side effect.
“I just don’t want [the public] to hear it at all. I’m very selfish. I make everything for me, kind of. I mean, every little thing, down to the guitar and the drums. It’s just for me. I want to hear it, I want to drive to it, I want to swim in the ocean to it. I want to think about it, and then I want to write something new after it. You know? It’s just… I don’t want them to hear it and think about it. It’s none of their business.”
We’re sure Lana Del Rey isn’t complaining that her music helped her attend one of the biggest celebrity-oriented events of 2014.
