Battlefield 3 beta dated, PC system requirements revealed

Posted: September 20, 2011

EA promised us a Battlefield 3 beta in September, but they neglected to mention just when in September it would be. Well, it is coming in September.. just at the tail end of it.

That’s right, Battlefield fans; EA announced today that the Battlefield 3 beta will kick off on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 simultaneously on September 29.

If you’ve pre-ordered your copy on the PC through Origin, you’ll be able to get your hands on it 48 hours earlier on September 27. The same goes for those who own the limited edition of Medal of Honor, provided you didn’t manage to lose your voucher by now.

That’s not the only bit of news to come out of this announcement. For PC gamers eager to learn just what it’s going to take to run the FPS all maxed out, EA also revealed the game’s system requirements on the Battlefield 3 beta FAQ site – which, by the way, you should check out if you have any questions about the beta. Anyhow, onto the system requirements.

Fair warning, PC gaming enthusiasts should probably read this sitting down. And you should probably take your heart medication. Wouldn’t hurt to have EMTs on standby, either.
