Brooke Burke Will Change Name To Match Husband’s

It’s not uncommon for Hollywood figures to keep their last names when they get married, a decision they make to keep their “brand identity” but that isn’t the case for Brooke Burke who has announced she’ll be taking the last name of husband David Charvet.

Speaking to PEOPLE during the Emmy’s on Sunday night Brooke revealed:

“Tomorrow on Dancing with the Stars will be the first time I go by my new name [on TV],” while adding, “I’m happy about being Brooke Charvet.”

When asked about the type of feedback she’s been receiving about her decision to change her last name Brooke says:

“It’s been 50-50 from everybody, but I’m doing it!”

Brooke and husband David Charvet dated for five years before decided to wed in a private ceremony.
