Olivia Wilde’s ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Features Fake Breast Milk [Video]

Olivia Wilde wasn’t afraid to mix it up a bit for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. The new mommy was captured by fiance Jason Sudeikis as she threw a bucket of breast milk over her head. On top of a roof in New York City, Wilde addressed the video camera (or Sudeikis’ phone) before she did the ALS Bucket Challenge.

In the video Wilde, an advocate for breast feeding, said:

“I hope it’s ok, I couldn’t find any water so I’m going to use breast milk. It took me all night to make this.”

After her bucket challenge the actress posted a photo of the her (fake!) breast milk ice bucket:

In her video Wilde nominated Senator Cory Booker, Gloria Steinem, and musician Prince. She made sure to tell everyone that she was taking part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in honor of her friend Scott Lew.

Funny enough the video fooled a lot of people into thinking that it was Wilde’s actual breast milk. Apparently no one picked up on her dry humor, and she had to address this fact on Twitter.

Though it wouldn’t be hard to believe if she dumped actual breast milk over her head. As we previously reported a photo of Wilde breastfeeding with son, Otis, in an upcoming issue of Glamour magazine caused quite the stir. Creating a unique juxtaposition Olivia Wilde was dressed in a Roberto Cavalli gown as she was photographed breastfeeding her three month old son. Of the photo Wilde said:

“Now it feels like Otis should always be on my breast. It felt like we were capturing that multifaceted woman we’ve been discussing — that we know we can be. You can be someone who is at once maternal and professional and sexy and self-possessed. [But] I mean, I certainly don’t really look like that when I’m [typically] breastfeeding. And there’s usually a diaper involved.”

Of her decision in being photographed with Otis Sudeikis, Olivia said:

“Being shot with Otis is so perfect because any portrait of me right now isn’t complete without my identity as a mother being a part of that. Breastfeeding is the most natural thing.”
