Lil Kim Needs To Release More Music, Says Remy Ma
Lil Kim needs to head back to the studio and record some new music. According to fellow rapper Remy Ma, Kim should seriously begin focusing on her career again.
Since people enjoy making fun of Lil Kim’s ever-changing appearance these days, some folks probably don’t know that she was once a force in the world of rap music. Before Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea were holding it down, Kim was spitting rhymes that made people take notice. Unfortunately for her fans, she stopping putting out records.
According to AllHipHop News, Remy Ma wants Lil Kim to get start putting together some new music. Instead of just watching other female rappers climb to the top of the Billboard 200, Kim needs to hit the studio in the very near future. Ma also feels that Lil Kim should squash her feud with Nicki Minaj as soon as humanly possible.
“It’s been going on for too long. That’s one thing. On Kim’s part, I would have liked if she put out more music. Not just music directed at the person she’s upset. Just music in general. If you feel like you hold a certain position, it’s so easy to prove that by putting out material.”
Remy Ma isn’t the only person out there who thinks Kim and Minaj need to leave their differences in the past. The Inquisitr reported way back in 2011 that Eve wanted the pair to stop throwing shade back and forth. In other words, grow up and move on.
“If I was Kim’s friend, I’d be like, yo. ’cause she’s Kim, period. So she never has to feed [into the beef]. She shouldn’t. It’s bad. It’s not a good look. If I was her friend, I’d tell her, yo, just come back bigger and better. The best way to get at people is to do you better than you’ve ever done you. So that’s it.”
Lil Kim’s last album arrived in 2005. The Naked Truth debuted at number six, selling approximately 109,000 copies during the first seven days on retail shelves. Sadly, it didn’t stick around very long on the charts. In short: Kim’s return is long overdue.
BET reports that Lil Kim could return to the studio sooner rather than later. Instead of recording an entire batch of new tunes, she will reportedly join forces with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. T.I. confirmed the rumors earlier this month.
“I got a call from Kim. She said it’s time to find that record to get [an Iggy collaboration] done.”
