#SharkCat Is Back! This Time, Cat Rides Robot Vacuum Cleaner While Baffled Baby Watches

SharkCat, or to be more precise #SharkCat, is back — because when you want to make something go viral, a hashtag is important. And some people just have a knack for creating viral videos. Helen Arnold of Houston, Texas is one of them.

Her formula is simple. Take your cat, dress him up in a shark costume and put him on a robotic Roomba vacuum cleaner. In 2013, the SharkCat, who is really Arnold’s 13-year-old kitty named Max, created a viral Shark Week sensation by riding a Roomba dressed as a shark and chasing a duck around the room.

This year, Max is back — but this time, rather than menacing a duck, Max the SharkCat is amusing a baby, who is also (unlike the duck) dressed as a shark.

There’s not a lot more to this video than that. But last year’s viral masterpiece “Cat In A Shark Costume Chases A Duck While Riding A Roomba,” accumulated upwards of 6.6 million views on YouTube. SharkCat has his own Twitter and Facebook accounts now, too.

This new one, informatively entitled “#SharkCat Entertains #SharkBaby! Happy #SharkWeek!!!” has about 35,000 since last Thursday, when it went online.

To be fair, while we can’t say whether Max voluntarily dresses as a shark, he does seem to love the Roomba without much prompting.

“He was staring at it in the bathroom and got on it the same day,” Arnold told The Today Show last year “It’s been five years. Every time it’s around he gets on it and he wants to ride.”

So, here’s Max the Roomba-Riding #Sharkcat entertaining a baby.
