Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor delivers a dynamic game environment where the player orchestrates their personal plan of vengeance as they bend Mordor to their will. The game begins on the night of Sauron’s return to Mordor, as his Black Captains brutally execute the Rangers of the Black Gate. Players become Talion, a ranger who loses his family and everything he holds dear, only to be returned from death by a mysterious Spirit of vengeance. Based on the player’s actions with the in-game Nemesis System, every enemy encountered is distinct and can evolve to become a personal archenemy through the course of the game. As Talion’s personal vendetta unfolds, players uncover the mystery of the Spirit that compels him, discover the origin of the Rings of Power and confront the ultimate nemesis.

The pricing for the DLC has yet to be announced, either on its own or as a whole with the season pass. The season pass is the same across all platforms. The only decision that gamers will have to make is what platform they will want to play the game on.

Each platform will have its own pre-order content as was revealed at Gamescom. As detailed on The PlayStation Blog the games who choose to simply walk into Mordor with a Dual Shock controller in their hands will find a few goodies exclusive to the PlayStation platform including the Legion Edition missions for the PlayStation 4 version of the game. Along with the grave walker that was recently unveiled for the game which our own David Cornell reported on Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is shaping up to be one of the best games based on Tolkien’s fantasy world in recent memory.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor has a release date of September 30 with a Windows PC release date of October 2.
