Lady Gaga Finds Her Inner Amy Winehouse In New Selfie
Lately, Lady Gaga has been playing with a ton of different looks. Most of those looks have been very reminiscent of Cher’s 80’s look, but there’s one image that’s getting a lot of attention due to Gaga’s striking resemblance to late singer Amy Winehouse. In a new selfie, Gaga showed herself off in heavy makeup, big black hair (not quite a Winehouse’s signature beehive), and heavy, wing-tipped eyeliner, which was also part of Amy’s look.
The photo was posted by Gaga through her Instagram account, and she captioned the photo with, “Off to Australia. Will be dreaming of my Aussie Monsters.”
Even if it wasn’t an intentional tribute to Amy Winehouse’s look, many fans quickly pointed out the resemblance Lady Gaga had to the late singer in that specific photo.
One fan said:
“I looked at this and legit thought it was Amy Winehouse.”
While another pointed out that this is just a coincidence:
“When Lady Gaga first came out most people noted the resemblance to her and Amy Winehouse. That’s why she dyed her hair blond. This ain’t new. Now people are trying to make it seem like she ‘looked up’ to Amy Winehouse and her music? Shut up folks, Amy and Gaga came out together. This is just a single pic with no plot or pun intended.”
Others didn’t seem to have the same opinion:

In the past, Gaga has spoken about her admiration for Amy Winehouse. At the time of her passing, the singer made many tributes on Twitter, but was also quoted by Rolling Stone as saying:
“She was my only hope when I was up and coming. Nobody knew who I was and I had no fans, no record label and everybody, when they met me, said I wasn’t pretty enough or that my voice was too low or strange. They had nowhere to put me. And then I saw her in Rolling Stone and I saw her live. I just remember thinking ‘Well, they found somewhere to put Amy…'”
Additionally, Lady Gaga wrote of Amy:
“Amy changed pop music forever. I remember knowing there was hope, and feeling not alone because of her. She lived jazz, she lived the blues.”
