WWE News: Sting And Vince McMahon Meet Face-To-Face, WWE Contract Imminent?

The entire WWE Universe sat down to watch SummerSlam and the only mention of the Icon Sting was the promotional video for his appearance in WWE 2K15. There was never a chance Sting would debut at the “Biggest Party of the Summer.” Reason being, he would literally steal the show and not in a good way.

With the excitement from SummerSlam still going strong, Sting remains in the news for his inevitable debut when WWE Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross broke the news on Twitter that Sting and Vince McMahon finally had a meeting face-to-face at SummerSlam.

“Jim Ross has noted on Twitter that Sting and Vince McMahon had a face-to-face meeting this weekend for the first time. Sting was in Los Angeles for the WWE 2K15 roster reveal event, and of course Vince is at the Staples Center for tonight’s SummerSlam PPV. Little is known about their conversation at this point, and it’s not likely that information will be revealed unless either decides to talk about it.”

Don’t forget that Sting already signed a WWE contract, but it was solely to sell merchandise and make public appearances. Within the WWE’s practices, they tend to sign WWE legends with a “Legends contract.” That is purely to do PR work for the company and not wrestle. That is one reason why Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart can never wrestle with their current contract.

Sting is in the same situation, but his debut to the WWE was continuously delayed due to his efforts with McMahon. For the past four years, both parties were close to signing a deal. Yet, they never met with each other to actually sign one. This is a huge step for the Icon and McMahon. Triple H should also be in the negotiations as he does most of the signing now.

Ross talking about Sting at WrestleMania 31 would be a great way to debut a legend that is the only one not to come over. Although Mar. 29, 2015 is very late for Sting to appear, McMahon and Triple H would make it the best-selling WrestleMania to date.

Until the day Sting debut occurs, nobody will know when it will be. There hasn’t been any news on how they will debut him. Most likely, WWE will produce and air multiple vignettes, quite like they did for the Undertaker a few years ago. A mischievous figure in a cloud of smoke or even up in the rafters will give the WWE Universe an inkling of his debut.

The only hitch in their plans will be the Undertaker’s health heading towards WrestleMania 31. Sting has already mentioned multiple times that he wants to wrestle Taker at the “Granddaddy of Them All” in March. It would be a match that the WWE fans will never forget.
