Reese Witherspoon Has a Black Eye After Getting Hit By Car

Last week Reese Witherspoon was hit by a car while she was jogging. Luckily, the actor escaped the incident with a few minor injuries. Witherspoon was recently spotted while she was heading to a friend’s birthday party. The actress had a black eye and a bandage on her forehead.

The New York Post reports that Witherspoon was hit by an 84-year-old woman while jogging in Santa Monica, California, on September 7th. The car was traveling at about 20 mph when it hit the Oscar winner. The woman was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian on a crosswalk, but a rep for Witherspoon said that she won’t press charges.

Witherspoon was taken to the hospital after the incident, but was released shortly after with minor injuries. According to her rep, Witherspoon has been “resting comfortable at home” for the last week.

A friend of the Oscar winner told US Magazine:

“The whole incident really frightened her. Now she’s just resting up. The odd thing about all of this is that Reese has always been very afraid of being hit by a car. It’s been an ongoing fear of hers. She is always the first person to pull people away from the edge of the curb.”

Reese Witherspoon just finished filming “Water for Elephants” with Twilight star Robert Pattinson. Witherspoon is currently filming “This Means War,” and “Mud.”
