Harry Styles Gets Engaged During Concert, Starts Directioner Wedding Dress Craze

Harry Styles just got engaged, but the notorious womanizer wasn’t tamed by a gorgeous model like Kendall Jenner or Cara Delevingne. Larry Stylinson fans will also be disappointed to learn that he didn’t get engaged to band mate Louis Tomlinson — instead he popped the question to a lucky fan named Priya Thakker.

According to Celebuzz, Harry Styles spotted Thakker during a One Direction concert in Philadelphia. However, Styles didn’t pop the question on the spot because he fell in love at first sight — he was just impressed with Priya’s dress. The fan attended the concert wearing a wedding gown, so she was ready to wed one of her One Direction idols on the spot. Here’s a photo of Priya’s wedding dress (she even rocked a veil):

It was easy for Harry Styles to spot her bright white dress in the crowd, so he decided to humor the fan by asking for hand. There was no ring involved, and it doesn’t look like Harry and Priya are doing any wedding planning. Here’s how Styles proposed:

“Before the show, I heard there was a girl in a wedding dress. Is there a girl in a wedding dress? Now I feel bad letting this go to waste, so what’s your name? Priya? Priya, will you marry me?”

After he got engaged, Harry quipped, “I almost wore my wedding dress. It could’ve been awkward.” You can check out a video of Styles’ proposal below (he starts talking at the 2:00 mark). Obviously Harry Styles’ engagement stunt was just a joke, and luckily Priya is old enough to realize that she’s not really engaged to Harry Styles. However, she’s not too proud to gloat about her incredible experience. “Wedding Dress Girl” used Twitter to respond to the haters who bullied her because she wore a wedding dress to a One Direction concert:

Priya’s real future husband will have to come up with the most epic proposal ever to win her hand.

Because Harry Styles singled Priya Thakker out for wearing a wedding dress, you just know that future One Direction concerts will peppered with hundreds of wedding gowns.

Harry Styles might not be getting married anytime soon, but he probably has weddings on the brain because of Zayn Malik’s upcoming nuptials. However, as The Inquisitr previously reported, he might run into someone he doesn’t want to see at his band mate’s wedding: ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift (Do you think Harry’s proposal to Priya made her jealous?).

Directioners are probably dying to see who Harry Styles will take as his date to Zayn Malik’s wedding, and there’s at least one famous lady that they can cross off their list of options. According to Cambio, Ariana Grande recently shot down rumors that she’s dating Styles. Grande was linked to the One Direction singer after collaborating with him on a song for her upcoming album. However, Ariana told Smallzy Surgery’s radio show that Harry is “just a nice friend.”

Perhaps Priya Thakker is available to be Harry Styles’ wedding date.
