Gerard Butler Has ‘Man Date’ With Mel Gibson

Actors Gerard Butler and Mel Gibson went out on a man date in Malibu. This could very well be the beginning of a great joke but fortunately the two actors did go out on a fabulous man date together.

According to TMZ the two were spotted at Coogies in Malibu on Friday night. According to TMZ’s staff Mel Gibson was friendly while Butler wasn’t. Additionally, the two were spotted hugging it out on Friday during lunch too.

It seems like it was a busy weekend for Gerard Butler. On Saturday afternoon he was spotted soaking up the sun in Malibu, looking in pretty good spirits. Despite not stopping for TMZ’s cameras the day before, he managed to stop to take a photo with a few fans that were in the area.

We’re not sure why he spent most of his Friday with Mel Gibson, but maybe they’re working on a new project together? Then again perhaps they just enjoy a good bromance? After all this isn’t the only time the two had a boys night out. Back in 2013 the pair were spotted laughing it up together in matching outfits.

Back then the bros went to Miami and hung out at Zuma for some dinner, but they weren’t alone. TMZ said that they were with a large group of friends and even tasted some fine sake.

As far as work goes, Gerard Butler is about to become plenty busy. According to The Hollywood Reporter Gerard just snagged an exciting role in a sci-fi adventure called Geostorm.

According to The Hollywood Reporter:

“The story centers on a stubborn but charming satellite designer (Butler) who, when the world’s climate-controlling satellites malfunction, has to work together with his estranged brother (Sturgess) to save the world from a man-made storm of epic proportions. As the designer heads into space, the brother discovers a plot to assassinate the president.”

Additionally Abbie Cornish, Jim Sturgess, Ed Harris, and Andy Garcia are joining Butler for the film, which is expected to start filming in October in New Orleans.

As for Butler’s pal Mel Gibson he just wrapped up Blood Father, which is about an ex-con who reunites with his daughter in order to protect her from drug dealer who are out for blood.
