Sex Corpse Abuse Lawsuit Can Move Forward, Kenneth Douglas Ohio Necrophilia Case

The Ohio sex corpse abuse lawsuit against Hamilton County officials can move forward, WCPO-9 is reporting. The Federal Appeals Court made the decision on Friday, August 15, 2014. The lawsuit stems from former morgue attendant Kenneth Douglas and the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office in Ohio. Douglas had a fetish for having sex with dead bodies during his stint at the Hamilton County Coroner’s office, where he worked as a morgue attendant for almost two decades.

Kenneth Douglas’ bizarre secret was held for many years until convicted killer and death row inmate David J. Steffen, aka David Steffen, appealed his death row conviction for the rape and murder of Karen Range. David Steffen admitted to killing the victim, but always vehemently denied raping her or abusing the corpse. Also, it was speculated that Karen Range was a virgin before the murder.

David Steffen was convicted in the 1982 murder of 19-year-old Karen Range. Steffen, a door to door salesman, had knocked on Karen Range’s door offering her some cleaning products. When she agreed to allow Steffen to demonstrate the products, he beat her, stabbed her, and cut her throat. The slash against her throat was so deep that the victim was almost decapitated.

It is in this condition that the victim arrived at the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office that day in 1982. That’s when police say morgue worker Kenneth Douglas, who was 27 at the time, climbed on top of the bloody dead corpse and had sex with it. After the semen and DNA was matched to Douglas, he was arrested and finally convicted for gross abuse of a corpse. He was sentenced to time in prison.

Sex corpse abuser Kenneth Douglas was further exposed when it came to light that he had sex with two more corpses, including the body of Charlene Appling Edward, a 23-year-old woman who was strangled and murdered in her home in 1991. She was six months pregnant at the time of her death. Kenneth Douglas also had sex with the dead corpse of another woman who had fallen from a three story building and died.

Kenneth Douglas stated that he had sex with the corpses when he was drunk or high on drugs. The sex acts and abuse of the corpses happened while Douglas worked at the county morgue during the night shift. When he would get the urge, he would climb on top, pull his pants down and have sex with the dead, mutilated corpses of young women. It is speculated that he had sex with up to 100 corpses during his time working at the morgue between 1976 and 1992, according to the The Morning Journal.

The suit alleges that people knew about the dirty deeds that were taking place at the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, including morgue workers being allowed to drink alcohol on the job and take photos of the corpses. The misdeeds happened under the tenure of a former coroner.

Kenneth Douglas’ own wife suspected that he was doing more than tending the morgue due to the fact that her husband usually smelled of sex when he ended his shift. She reported this to the morgue but nothing was done about it.

The subject of necrophilia is discussed in the movie Child of God, according to The Inquisitr.
