Sonic Generations release date announced

Sonic Generations, Sega’s next attempt to revive a franchise that has been dying for over 10 years, finally got a release date earlier today for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360: November 22.

The next in a long line of Sonic titles will attempt to appease fans from both sides of the spectrum; fans of classic, 2D gameplay, and fans of the modern gameplay mechanics familiar to those who played Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Colors.

Sonic Generations features recreations of beloved Sonic stages from old, including the classic Green Hill zone from the original Sonic, Chemical Plant zone from Sonic 2, and City Escape from Sonic Adventure 2.

The Nintendo 3DS version, which features exclusive environments and two-player competitive multiplayer, still doesn’t have a release date.
