War Machine Captured And In Custody For Assaulting Porn Star Christy Mack

The MMA fighter known as War Machine has been captured and arrested by authorities for the brutal beating of his ex-girlfriend, porn star Christy Mack.

War Machine’s real name is Jon Koppenhaver, and a warrant was issued for his arrest earlier this week after leaving Mack hospitalized, in need of reconstructive surgery. According to Sherdog, the Simi Valley California Police Department released an advisory informing the public that War Machine is in custody.

War Machine was apprehended by the United States Marshal Service and the local police department at an Extended Stay America Hotel in Simi Valley at 1:45 pm on Friday afternoon. Koppenhaver was discovered inside his hotel room and gave himself up without a fight. The fighter was turned over to the Simi Valley Police Department for booking on an arrest warrant issued by the state of Nevada. War Machine is now being held at the Ventura County Jail.

According to the advisory, found with War Machine was “a small quantity of cash and some pizza.” Authorities were able to locate him because War Machine had lived in Simi Valley in the past, leaving police to suspect he may have gone there to hide. According to Bloody Elbow, seven felony charges have been brought against War Machine.

The counts that War Machine is facing include one count battery resulting in substantial bodily harm; one county battery by strangulation; two counts battery with substantial bodily harm; one count open and gross lewdness; one count assault with deadly weapon; one count coercion/threat with force.

War Machine was officially dropped by the MMA once he became a suspect in the assault against Christy Mack. War Machine has been on the run since last Friday morning.

The Inquisitr reported on the War Machine beating earlier this week. According to various reports, it seemed that some of Christy’s friends had warned her to stay away from War Machine. That doesn’t make the victim guilty for sticking around, of course, but it seems War Machine already had a bad reputation for aggressive outbursts and violent tendencies. War Machine even joked around about killing his girlfriend, which you can see in the video at Hollywood Life.
