WWE News: Major Update On Brock Lesnar Vs. Roman Reigns At WrestleMania 31

In over 24 hours, the WWE Universe will be in disgust as WWE superstar Brock Lesnar wins the WWE World Heavyweight championship from John Cena at SummerSlam. Of course, that isn’t official yet, but all signs point toward the Beast conquering Cena at the “Biggest Party of the Summer.” If you don’t believe me, maybe Paul Heyman will change your mind.

SummerSlam should be building for the future. In saying that, Roman Reigns is the next top guy. Clearly, WWE will want to push him to the moon and back. This time around, they are doing it correctly with a long-term, slow booking process. According to E-Wrestling News, his build should culminate with a match against Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight title at WrestleMania 31.

“It is believed that we will see some hints towards the direction heading into WrestleMania 31 at Sunday night’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view. If Brock Lesnar wins the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from John Cena, the belief is that he will remain champion until next year’s WrestleMania, where it is expected that he will drop it to Roman Reigns, resulting in the climax of Reigns’ push as WWE’s new top Superstar.”

The WWE realizes that Cena’s time at the top is coming to an end. He isn’t a young 23-year-old anymore, and Triple H understands that. Just like the Rock handed Cena the reigns long ago (metaphorically), Cena will hand Reigns the company’s top superstar tag.

From that point on, the WWE Universe will start to chant “Reigns sucks” at every show on the planet. Trust me — that will become a daily occurrence with the rate WWE fans trash Cena on a daily basis.

In order for the former to come true, Lesnar has to beat Cena at SummerSlam. In a recent article I produced this week, I talked about the numbers Lesnar produces when he works a WWE pay-per-view. Along with those facts, this situation will begin the “Seth Rollins story.”

  1. Lesnar wins the WWE World Heavyweight title and holds it until WrestleMania 31.
  2. Reigns comes out victorious at the Royal Rumble 2015.
  3. Keep Rollins busy with good feuds alongside the Authority until it is time to cash in.
  4. Reigns must defeat Lesnar at WrestleMania 31 for the championship.
  5. Two months later, have Rollins cash in his briefcase to become the championship.
  6. Build that feud until SummerSlam when Reigns wins it back.

If this story takes place, that will build two major players in the main-event scene. Cena doesn’t need to feud with Reigns yet. That will occur, but at a later date. For those that think Rollins will cash-in his belt at SummerSlam, don’t hold your breath. He just isn’t ready for the WWE World Heavyweight championship yet. Now, if there was still a World Heavyweight belt around, then by all means, Rollins is the man.

In over 24 hours, WWE will take us into the future and hopefully start the long build to WrestleMania 31. When Brock Lesnar wins the WWE World Heavyweight championship, don’t freak out just yet. They have a long-term plan, for once. Just try to enjoy the ride to WrestleMania.
