To Serve, Protect, and Dance; NYPD Officers Caught Bumping and Grinding With Parade Dancers [Video]

A few uniformed officers for the NYPD were caught on film bumping and grinding with female parade dancers during the West Indian Day Parade.

The video, which was put on Youtube yesterday, shows a young woman dancing with a NYPD officer. The officer stands there for a moment, but then starts to get his groove on. A few minutes later the party gets a little more wild as more officers join in on the fun.

Here’s the video of the NYPD dancing at the West Indian Day Parade.

So were these officers putting the people they protect in danger by focusing the majority of their attention on the barely clothed dancers? Or were they just having a good time while doing their job?

The New York Daily News reports that a police investigative unit has been ordered to look into the incident to see if they can identify the officers dancing in the video. The Daily News notes that the officers won’t face anything serious like corruption charges, but they could be disciplined for their actions.

What do you think? Should we hold NYPD officers to the same standards as the Queen’s Guard?
