Catherine Zeta-Jones And Michael Douglas Sale Of Property Sparks Divorce Rumors Again
Catherine Zeta-Jones, 44, stayed in a property in Bedford, N.Y. following her highly publicized split from Michael Douglas, 69, last year.
Their on-again off-again relationship has been well documented over the past few months, but they are currently living together again. However, news has emerged that they are putting this very same property up for sale with an asking price of $8.5 million.
According to CelebDirty Laundry, this action has triggered rumors that the couple is about to separate again. The speculation centers around the reasoning for them selling this property at all. Those arguing that there is no basis for the conjecturing say that this can be taken as a positive sign that she’s willing to let go of her past, and move on.
On the other hand, others are saying why sell a perfectly good house that could have served as a vacation spot for their family in the future? After all, it’s not as if they need the money right now.
Some of the speculation is even more tortuous, like, if they ARE getting divorced, is this a pre-planned tactic to prevent them from fighting? And if they DO fight, Catherine won’t have a place to run to. Some have pointed out that selling joint property is almost always the first sign of trouble in a marriage.
Whatever the reason, Hello Magazine reports that the property is on the market. The house is a colonial design of 6,600 square meters featuring a center hall, spiral staircase, six bedrooms, six bathrooms and wrap-around balconies that look out over the farm where Catherine Zeta-Jones used to ride her horses.
Other amenities include gardens, a greenhouse, an outdoor swimming pool, a spa and a state-of-the art gym and the estate occupies five acres of land.
Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas are parents to daughter Carys, 11, and son, Dylan, 14. Hopefully, the sale of the property has no connection to the state of their marriage, and this is just another example of the media making two and two equal five.
