Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michael Douglas Selling Home: ‘Temporary Separation’ Residence Of Zeta-Jones On The Market

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas are selling their $8.1 million home in Bedford, New York. The home was Zeta-Jones’ residence while she and Douglas were going through a temporary separation. Zillow posts that the extravagant home is now on the market. The couple paid $5.075 million in 2010.

Catherine and Michael first rented the brick colonial home six months before purchasing it. It’s located on 541 Guard Hill Road and boasts six bedrooms, six baths, spa, wrap-around balconies, spiral staircase, gym, outdoor swimming pool, greenhouse, and gardens.

The listing adds that the home has recently been renovated. A guesthouse and master suite has been added, along with spacious closets and a dressing room. Siano & Company is the real estate agent for the luxury home.

Zeta-Jones reportedly rode horses while she resided at the estate. It’s also noted in the report that Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas owned homes in Manhattan, the U.K., and Bermuda during their separation as well.

The pair went through a rough patch in their marriage and had a trial separation for about six months. This came on the heels of Douglas having a tumor removed from the back portion of his tongue and Zeta-Jones battling bipolar in rehab. In spite of these road bumps, they’ve reconciled and their marriage seems to be stronger than ever.

Michael Douglas gave an interview not long ago admitting that he took his wife for granted and had a wake up call during their temporary separation.

Douglas told People back in June:

“When you’ve accomplished a certain amount in your career, you’re not so focused on your ambitions. It makes you appreciate – and hopefully you do that sooner rather than later – the value of your partner.”

Adding:

“Like a lovely orchid, or anything else that’s nurtured, marriage prospers and grows, but if it’s ignored, it withers.”

The Hollywood power couple have been married since 2000 and are one of the most glamorous A-list couples in the entertainment business.

As The Inquisitr has previously reported, Zeta-Jones and Douglas have their share of outside problems as well. Douglas’ ex, Diandra Douglas, surfaces in the headlines at times and the latest has to do with her accusing Catherine for “selling her private life” because she purchased Spanish villa in Majorca, where she lives. Diandra is baffled as at why Catherine would want to move there of all places.

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas have two children together — daughter, Carys, 11, and son, Dylan, 14.
