Maroon 5, Big Sean Collaborate For ‘Maps’ Remix [Listen]

Maroon 5 and rapper Big Sean have come together to remix one of the band’s top singles off their new album V. Maroon 5’s hit single “Maps” is currently on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, resting comfortably at number 7, and this new remix version is sure to entice fans.

According to Direct Lyrics, Big Sean and Maroon 5 have come together to push “Maps” to its limits, and from the sounds of the music clip below, they’ve taken the song to a new level. Big Sean may only have a forty second part in the new remix, but his lyrics set the tone for the rest of the remix. According to Hot New Hip Hop, “its Sean’s bars that make this song a win”:

“Im sippin’ champagne til we throw it up
I drank enough for the both of us
You talkin way way to fast for me to
So pour up everything to slow it all up
I talked about his Finally Famous lifestyle way back baby when we was growin’ up
Made a few plays and now everything we talked about showin’ up
and I can show forever, but Im still getting lost on a map to your heart
So far gone, lets take it back to the start”

According to an earlier report by The Inquisitr, Maroon 5’s “Maps” is one of the bands darkest songs yet, especially when accompanied by the music video.

Maroon 5 reportedly is trying a variety of new things with this new album, but that doesn’t mean that they are completely leaving behind their old sounds and vibes:

“This album is very much all over the place. There’s some stuff on our record that sounds a little like early Maroon 5, and then there’s some stuff that sounds like the newer direction that we went in. We thought we’d get back to certain elements that we’d been missing out on for a while with our original sound, but also bridge the gap with the new stuff that we’ve been doing. I think it’s an all-encompassing kind of record.”
