Brittany Murphy True Story To Be Lifetime Movie

Brittany Murphy’s life story will be told in a movie based on a true story. The Brittany Murphy Story will premier on the Lifetime Television Network in September, according to CBS News. The movie comes on the heels of several other biopics that have been released or that are in the works by the Lifetime channel.

Brittany Murphy, also known as Brittany Murphy Monjack, died on December 20, 2009 at the age of 32. Her husband Simon Monjack died several months later. The Brittany Murphy Story will chronicle Murphy’s rise to fame with the help of her mother to her untimely death.

The Brittany Murphy Story was written by Peter Hunziker and Cynthia Riddle and is directed by Joe Menendez, according to the Internet Movie Database. Amanda Fuller will play the role of Brittany Murphy with Sherilyn Fenn playing Murphy’s mother, Sharon.

Brittany Murphy fans are excited to see the actress’ story play out in a television movie. However, Brittany Murphy’s father is opposed to the making of the movie, as well as the portrayal of Brittany Murphy’s mother as a loving and doting stage mother.

Despite the evidence, Brittany Murphy’s father, Angelo Joseph Bertolott, believes that foul play may have been a factor in his daughter’s premature death. He states that he plans to halt the making of the biopic by suing Lifetime, according to the Daily Mail.

“Lifetime has not been authorized to produce the true story of Brittany Murphy. I intend to litigate Lifetime in a court of law,” stated Angelo Bertolott.

Those who are familiar with Brittany Murphy’s background say that Brittany’s father never had a part in her life, and that it was her loving mother who gave up everything to make sure that her daughter had a thriving career.

“When I asked my mom to move to California, she sold everything and moved out here for me. She always believed in me,” stated Brittany Murphy about her mother, Sharon Kathleen Murphy.

The Atlanta native is known for her roles in King of the Hill, Just Married, and Girl, Interrupted. Murphy is also known for her role in the 1996 CBS true-story movie Victim of the Night (aka Double Jeopardy), based on the Gina Marie Nueslein and James Kulbicki murder case. The movie was replayed for many years on the Lifetime Movie Network, according to the Movies Based On True Stories Archivesand the Examiner.

As stated earlier by The Inquisitr, The Brittany Murphy biopic will be produced by Fleur De Lis Film Studios and will air on Lifetime on September 6 at 8 pm.
