Ariana Grande Gets Her Barbarella On In Campy, Sci-Fi Romp For ‘Break Free’ [Video]
Ariana Grande’s “Break Free” music video drops and intergalactic warfare has never looked sexier, or camper.
Ariana Grande manages to make fighting intergalactic aliens looks crazy yet glamorous as she romps through the galaxy in a spaceship in her new video for “Break Free,” featuring Russian-German musician and producer Zedd.
The song is the second single to be lifted from the singer’s upcoming album My Everything, and finally the full video is here.
Camp as heck while paying homage to Barbarella with a Star Wars-rolling text introduction, Ariana is on playful form as a sexily sexy sexily-dressed princess on a mission to save her less sexily-dressed pals from evil space aliens.
“It’s inspired by Jane Fonda in Barbarella and Star Wars and space,” Ariana told Ryan Seacrest. “It’s more throwback, campy.”
To aid her in her task, the 21-year-old fires missiles from her breasts to see off bad robots, before blasting the really bad E.T.’s and freeing her imprisoned buddies.
Once done, the space princess parties like its 4099 on a spaceship with Zedd as he deejays their exit through the stars.
In short, “Break Free,” which premiered July 2 on a one day revival MTV’s Total Ariana Live, is massive fun and has picked up some great reviews as a No. 1 spot on the iTunes Sales Chart post-release.
Throughout the video, Ariana looks immaculate singing and stomping up an EDM storm in a lavender corset which she later swaps for a metallic brassiere.
At one point, she does a Kate Upton and floats in mid-air, revealing perfect pins and a pert derriere.

The actress-singer’s latest visual treat comes on the heels of her topping the iTunes singles chart with “Best Mistake” on Monday. The track features Grande pal and possible new beau, rapper Big Sean. The pair’s previous musical outing was last year’s “Right There” from her debut album, Yours Truly.
Big Sean — real name, Sean Michael Leonard Anderson — has since responded to dating rumors. He told the UK’s Capital FM station that he and Ariana have a “great friendship” and “people need to chill.”
Whatever you say Big Sean.

The multi-octave talent drops her sophomore album My Everything on August 22/25 [reports vary]. It features the rapper Iggy Azalea on “Problem,” “Bang Bang” with the shy and retiring Nicki Minaj and British singer Jessie J, Childish Gambino, The Weeknd and A$AP Ferg.

The day before her album release, Ariana will perform “Break Free” at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles, where she is nominated for three – yup, three – shiny moon men for “Problem.”
