72-Year-Old New York Man Punched In The Face, NYPD Looking For Two Suspects
A 72-year-old man has been hospitalized after he was punched in the face by an unidentified man in New York. The incident happened on 99 Jane Street in West Village at around 5:30 pm local time on Monday, reports NBC News. The disgusting incident was caught on a nearby surveillance camera – the footage from which has been shared thousands of times on social media.

As seen in the video above, the attack on the elderly man who has been identified as Donald Lathrom, was completely unprovoked. The footage clearly shows the attacker standing by the road as the victim approaches the man. As the elderly man nears the attacker the man turns around in a flash and without warning, delivers a punch in the face of the old man who falls to the ground immediately. Lathrom is a retired New York cab driver who walks dogs in his old age.
The video then shows the attacker crossing the street where police officials say an accomplice was waiting for him. The complete lack of concern displayed by the attacker is appalling to say the least. Police are looking for two people in connection with the case.
As for the victim, he was later taken to Beth Israel Hospital with lacerations and pain to his head and face, as well as bleeding from the head. The victim is currently listed to be in a stable condition – but is still in pain.
According to NYPD officials, both the suspects are believed to be in their early 20s. They are also appealing people to have a look at the video and let them know if they have seen anybody who they think might be the suspect seen in the video.
