Rick Perry Eyes Presidency, Calls For ‘A Little Rebellion’
Friday, Rick Perry called for a little rebellion. Delivering what The Guardian called a “stentorian, crowd-pleasing and rhetoric-jammed speech on core Republican issues,” Rick Perry also strengthened his position of leadership within the Republican Party, hinting at another presidential run. “Thomas Jefferson was right when he said, ‘A little rebellion now and then is a good thing,'” Perry declared. ”And now, faced with another power-hungry, oppressive ruler in a faraway place, it’s time for us to start a little rebellion.”
Rick Perry did not call for President Obama’s impeachment, but did suggest the rebellion he called for would be to fight against the ideas born from the Obama Administration, according to US News. Perry spoke of his vision of the proposed rebellion stating, “This war that we will fight will be on the battlefield of ideas.”
The Dallas News reported:
“The governor’s chief selling point will be his state’s white-hot economy, and he said Friday that 35 percent of the nation’s new, private-sector jobs had been created in Texas since he became governor in December 2000. He also, though, has garnered headlines nationally by recently deploying 1,000 National Guard troops to the Texas-Mexico border amid an influx of unaccompanied Central American children fleeing violence and pouring into the U.S..”
Texas Governor Rick Perry drew a standing ovation at RedState when he said, “If this president will not act to secure the border, as the governor of Texas, I will.” With that statement, political analysts suggest that Perry may have countered part of what lost him the last presidential primary. In 2012, Perry’s opponents in the primary used his support of public education for undocumented immigrants to call him soft on immigration policy. That same issue is still criticized by his party.

Rick Perry also announced that, as a leader within the Republican Party, he recently formed a new political action committee to increase the chances of republicans winning elections nationwide. The committee, Perry said, is called RickPAC. His PAC is all part of Perry’s planned rebellion. He said, “In order to win back the Senate this fall I’ve formed a new PAC to win races from coast to coast.”

The Guardian suggested that RickPAC, if successful, would enhance his chances that his rebellion would result in a win at the 2016 Republican Presidential primary. Rick Perry’s rebellion continues in Iowa.
