‘Breaking Bad’ Spinoff Trailer First Peek: ‘Better Call Saul’ Preview Tantalizes Fans

Fans are anxious for the scoop on the Breaking Bad spinoff titled Better Call Saul, and AMC finally shared a tiny sneak peek of the new show. The very short clip came during Sunday night’s Breaking Bad marathon, and it definitely got fans buzzing. Fans think they have an idea of what to expect with this one, but it will be a while yet before they can check out a full episode.

CBS News shared the scoop on the Breaking Badspinoff preview. The clip is just 10 seconds long, and it shows a young Saul, played by Bob Odenkirk. Saul says, “Lawyers… we’re like health insurance.” He teases, “You hope you never need it, but man oh man, not having it? No, phew.”

As fans know, Odenkirk will headline the Breaking Bad spinoff that is set to debut in February 2015 on AMC. The show will go back and follow Saul throughout his days before he connected with Walter White. Better Call Saul will also star Jonathan Banks, who played Mike Ehrmentrout in Breaking Bad.

Could other stars of the first show make appearances in Better Call Saul? It seems the door is open for this to happen, and of course folks are hoping that Bryan Cranston will pop up in some fashion as Walter White. As the Daily Mail notes, the Breaking Bad spinoff features a younger Saul, whose character’s real name is Jimmy McGill. Fans have also seen a bit of Saul talking with his brother Chuck, who is played by Michael McKean.

There is already quite a bit of hype surrounding this show, which is certainly to be expected considering what a monster hit Breaking Bad was for AMC. There is a real-life billboard for “James M. McGill” that was spotted in Albuquerque, as noted by Vulture. It has been said that the show will be set in 2002 when Saul was still going by that name. The phone number listed on the billboard even works, as callers get a message for “McGill’s” office. There’s also a website for Saul Goodman, Attorney at Law that AMC has put together.

Is there any way that Better Call Saul can live up to the hype and expectations that viewers will have? Here’s hoping this one is a hit, as many are anxiously anticipating its premiere. Will you be tuning in to the Breaking Bad spinoff starring Bob Odenkirk when it debuts this winter?
