Michael Douglas’ Ex-Wife Slams Catherine Zeta Jones For ‘Selling Her Private Life’

Michael Douglas’ ex-wife, Diandra Douglas, lashed out at her ex-husband’s current wife, Catherine Zeta Jones, in a veiled attack during an interview she gave recently from her home in Majorca.

When she was asked by the interviewer about rumors regarding Catherine Zeta Jones purchasing half of the Spanish villa, she replied:

“It’s not true. Sometimes people say things without the slightest proof. Why would someone who doesn’t speak Spanish or the local Majorcan language or knows nothing about this culture want a house here? She doesn’t even come here much.”

In response to questions regarding why Diandra has been less visible, and off the radar for the most part, recently, she explained, “I’ve never sold photos or kept money from anything and I’ve always given everything away to charity. I’m proud to be able to say that I’ve never turned my private life into show business. Too much public exposure affects children.”

Diandra Douglas, who was married to Michael Douglas for 18 years, went on to talk about the support both she and her ex have given to their son Cameron, who was sentenced to nine-and-a-half-years in prison in 2010 for selling methamphetamine and heroin possession.

Cameron’s sentence was almost doubled by the judge when he was found guilty of breaking prison rules in order to get drugs on the inside. He was put in solitary confinement for months but was released to the prison’s general population recently.

Diandra spoke to the Spanish newspaper El Mundo about her son. “Putting a drug addict in a jail is like putting a diabetic in a cake shop without treatment. It’s horrible that someone with money and famous parents should receive such tough punishment,” she said.

It remains to be seen whether or not Catherine Zeta Jones will choose to ignore or to respond to the veiled slamming she received from her husband’s ex-wife.
