Jamie Foxx Signs on for Michael Jackson Tribute

Actor and singer/dancer Jamie Foxx has joined the star-studded tribute to Michael Jackson set for this October in Wales.

Foxx joins Christina Aguilera, Cee-Lo, Smokey Robinson and Beyonce as confirmed performers at the event. According to TMZ, there was some confusion as to whether Beyonce would actually be present at the event- possible due to her recently announced pregnancy. However, the gossip site confirms that not only will Jamie Foxx be on the roster, but Mrs. Jay-Z will definitely perform as well:

Sources connected to the show tell TMZ … show organizers are pumped up about Beyonce’s performance — and insist she did NOT pull out, despite a report to the contrary.

We’re told B is recording a “unique, never before seen performance” that will be played at the show … just as she committed to do.

The celeb-laden Jackson love fest is eagerly anticipated by pop fans, but like most things surrounding the king of pop, the affair is not without some controversy surrounding it. The Jackson family has reportedly disagreed about whether and when to hold the fete, as the tribute is set to occur at the same time Dr. Conrad Murray- Jackson’s physician- is to be tried for manslaughter in relation to the singer’s death.

While mom Katherine and kids Paris, Blanket and Prince Michael are excited to attend, Michael’s brothers are said to have objected. Last month, a rep for the Jackson kids confirmed they’d be attending:

“Paris, Blanket and Prince have decided to go,” said a spokesman for Jackson’s children. “They are extremely excited and are hoping they will have the opportunity to contribute in some way by making a speech.”
