Lindsay Lohan On ‘TOWIE’: Is The Actress Taking Another Stab At Reality TV?
Lindsay Lohan is apparently ready and willing to try her hand at reality television one more time. Are British TV fanatics ready for such a venture?
The last time the troubled actress decided to delve into the world of reality TV, people were largely disinterested in the endeavor. Lohan famously teamed up with Oprah Winfrey for the aptly-titled Lindsay, which aired on OWN earlier this year. Despite a considerable amount of buzz, this candid exploration of Lohan’s inner psyche didn’t appeal to the masses. All in all, the show was kind of a flop.
According to Business Standard, Lindsay Lohan is reportedly very interested in signing on for the UK television series The Only Way is Essex (aka TOWIE). Although Lohan hasn’t made any public declarations about the matter, one of those handy anonymous sources unearthed a nugget of gossip regarding her televised intentions.
The insider had this to say about Lindsay:
“Lindsay’s obsessed with all things Essex and she’s watched every episode of ‘TOWIE’ on YouTube. It’s like her new fix. She’s been telling anyone who’ll listen that she’d love to guest star in a few episodes and has even asked her management to set up a meeting with the producers.”
Lindsay Lohan recently spent some time with TOWIE star Vas J. Morgan in Ibiza, but that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s headed to the small screen in Britain. In fact, Lohan’s Stateside roots might ultimately derail her plans for reality TV domination.

A source with alleged connections to the show explained:
“We always ensure that everyone on the show has a genuine connection to Essex. As a friend of Vas, Lindsay might fit the bill, but there are no plans as yet.”
If you’ve never heard of The Only Way is Essex, then you’ll probably need to investigate the following synopsis. Judging from the description, the program isn’t too far removed from the stuff E! and Bravo are churning out on a regular basis these days. The only major differences we can see are the accents.
“‘The Only Way Is Essex’ is a reality series which follows some people living in Essex, including a club promoter, a would-be model, a member of a girl band and two bar workers. Each episode features action filmed just a few days previously.”
