Crysis arriving on consoles next month

Back in July, an interesting listing made its way onto the Korean Ratings Board website that suggested Crysis, the game that set the bar for graphics capabilities to new heights on PCs, would be making its way over to consoles – and, as it turns out, that listing was correct.

In fact, Crytek and EA revealed to GameTrailers in an exclusive reveal that the original Crysis will be available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 beginning next month.

Naturally, there have been a few changes made in the FPS’ transition over to consoles. The graphics obviously aren’t quite as spectacular as you could get out of a decent PC, but all things considered, Crysis still looks absolutely amazing on consoles.

There have also been a few changes for the better, including new lighting, new effects and a new nanosuit control scheme that better fits consoles – going by the debut trailer, found below, it appears to follow in Crysis 2‘s footsteps.

Neither an exact release date nor pricing was made available in the announcement, but, unless EA wants to surprise everyone, we’ll be hearing more about that soon.

In the meantime, check out the debut trailer below, courtesy of GameTrailers, to get an idea of what the game will look like on your console of choice. Spoiler alert: it looks great.
