Chris Pratt Was Exactly The Same Lovable Goofball In High School, Classmate Reveals

Chris Pratt has perfected playing the lovable goofball on television’s Parks and Recreation, and apparently he’s got good experience in the role.

A classmate from Pratt’s hometown of Lake Stevens, Washington, shared some stories and some goofy pictures this week, recalling Pratt as a good athlete and class clown who everyone seemed to like.

The revelation came from Reddit user warped_and_bubbling, who share a picture of a smiling Chris Pratt from his junior. The classmate, who said they ran in the same circles and attended some of the same parties but were more of acquaintances than friends, said that everyone seemed to get along with him.

“Had more than a few classes with him, absolute class clown, the kind of guy who could crack a joke in class and never get in trouble for it, and one of those students who was popular with everyone,” the user shared.

Chris Pratt has an interesting life story. After growing up as the youngest of three in Lake Stevens, a small town north of Seattle, he decided to head off to Maui with a friend. In the tropical setting, Chris Pratt found himself living in a van and a tent on the beach, while working as a waiter at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company.

It was at the restaurant that Chris caught his big break. Actor Rae Dawn Chong happened to come in, and Chris decided to strike up a conversation.

“Hey, you’re a movie star!” he recalls saying.

Chong revealed that she was directing a movie and asked if Chris was an actor. He replied that he was, and ended up getting a gig in a movie called Cursed Part 3.

“I thought it was the best thing I ever read. It probably was the best thing I ever read. I hadn’t read a whole lot of anything up to that point,” Pratt joked about the short film. “It was like one of the famous Hitchcock push-ins. My world changed. I knew it right at that moment.”

Of course, since then Chris Pratt has blown up. After making his mark as the lovable goofball Andy Dwyer on Parks and Rec, he has burst into movie super-stardom with turns in the popular Lego Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy. Pretty good for the class clown.
