Rosie O’Donnell Prepares For New Show, Says She’s No Longer Angry

Rosie O’Donnell went from being the “Queen of Nice” to one of the most hated women on TV after transitioning from the Rosie O’Donnell Show to her role on The View and now with a new talk show set to debut on Oprah’s OWN Network Rosie say’s she’s no longer angry.

Speaking in the October issue of “O” she says of her past and present:

“You know, I think I had a lot more rage than I was aware of,” while adding, “But I’ve gotten back access to my other feelings. I’m not cut off from my emotions anymore … The rage has gone away … There’s been a healing.”

“I had, like, zero estrogen,” she says. “And since I got some, I’ve been able to function more normally. I’ve stopped being so angry.”

Oprah also chimed in, but not about Rosie’s attitude, instead talking about her as a friend and talk show competitor:

“In 25 years of doing my show only one competitor ever seriously challenged me in the ratings: Rosie O’Donnell,” Winfrey says. “From the day Rosie took her place among the crowded field of talk show hosts, I knew she had the ‘It’ thing.”

Rosie moved to Chicago for her new show and she promises that the move is a new chapter in her life.

Will you be tuning in to the Rosie show? It might be interesting to watch just one episode to see if she’s really a different O’Donnell than she has been over the last decade.

The Rosie O’Donnell issue of “O” Magazine will be available at newstands on September 15.
