Chrissy Teigen Admits She Doesn’t Take Modeling Very Seriously
Chrissy Teigen is easily one of the world’s most recognizable Sports Illustrated swimsuit models. However, John Legend’s beautiful wife admits that she approaches her craft with tongue pressed firmly into cheek.
Although some models take the business very seriously, Teigen seems to approach everything with a sense of humor. What’s more, Chrissy frequently gives fans a rare glimpse behind the proverbial curtain, which proves that modeling isn’t as glamorous as some of us might think. However, some people seem to take offense to this.
During her recent chat with the folks at The Daily Beast, Chrissy Teigen admitted that some people aren’t thrilled with how she approaches the industry. Some have pegged her as the “Jennifer Lawrence of the modeling world,” a label that suggests she doesn’t tackle the business with a hefty dose of pretension.
Teigen told the website:
“Some people, I think, think that because I don’t take it as seriously as a lot of the girls do, that I frown upon modeling or think it’s stupid. I don’t at all. This is my life. I would be nothing without this. But I really don’t take it seriously.”
The Sports Illustrated model continued:
“I got a lot of comments saying, ‘Well at least Jennifer Lawrence respects her craft.’ I was like, ‘I have so much respect for my craft, but I am also not like the girls that—I’m not an editorial girl.’ It takes talent to be that type of girl, and for me, I go in and have a good time. But I definitely respect the craft of modeling. Do I take myself seriously in it? Not at all.”
While some folks might have a serious problem with the stuff Chrissy Teigen posts on social media, her candid comments and willingness to poke fun at herself has won her millions of loyal followers and both Twitter and Instagram. Of course, the fact that she’s incredibly easy on the eyes has helped her popularity as well.
Teigen’s down-to-earth nature was front and center during her appearance at a recent Dodgers game. The Inquisitr previously reported that Chrissy was more than a little sloshed when she threw out the first pitch during the game.
