Fans got the clue that the newest film would be entitled Terminator Genisys because the Terminator Twitter account referred to the film as such. Paramount Pictures officially confirmed the name.
Evidently, fans had already been referring to the film as “Terminator Genesis,” according to First Showing. The odd spelling was a surprise and has fans wondering what it means, and how the film will be rebooted from the original.
Schwarzenegger claims that Terminator Genisys is so good that it will “remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator.”
Arnold released a photo on his Instagram account that further confirmed the name for those who needed to see it to believe it. It also makes everyone wonder if Arnold wore the iconic leather jacket that his cyborg character typically wears for the Terminator movies.
Along with the Instagram photo, the Terminator Genisys star posted:
“Hasta la vista, baby. I want to thank the cast and crew of @TerminatorGenysis for a fantastic shoot. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding. From our director to the producers, from the camera team to catering, from visual effects to hair and makeup – we couldn’t have done it without you. I can’t wait to see our finished project and I know we’ll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator. On July 1, 2015, I’ll be back.”
According to Polygon, Arnold will once again become a terminator. Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) will play Sarah Connor, and Jason Clarke (The Chicago Code) will play John Connor. Jai Courtney and Matt Smith will also star in the film. Terminator Genisys is directed by Alan Taylor.
