Thanks to a savvy Twitter user we have a brand new, on set Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice video. The clip, in which we can take a look at Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne in action, was taken while the production films some scenes in downtown Detroit.
Zack Snyder moved the Batman v Supemran: Dawn of Justice filming outdoors this week and several photos of Affleck have been posted to Twitter by different users. In them, we see Batman’s alter ego, Bruce Wayne, wearing a blue shirt, tie, vest, and pants.
Twitter user Samuel Otten (@OttenSam) was at the right place, at the right time and captured some very cool footage of Bruce Wayne springing into action and apparently saving a young girl from peril. Not only that, Samuel also captured director Zack Snyder walking around set and Ben Affleck getting ready for his scenes.
We want to warn you that the video can contain spoilers, so if you don’t want to know you can skip over it, but read at your own risk. Enough of that, on to what we see on the three-minute clip.
The clip shows several destroyed Metropolis vehicles, including that city bus that was seen on previous photos posted on the social media site. Bruce Wayne is seen walking around in the rubble, looking very serious and not happy, as a young girl stands, apparently in some trouble, after the attack on Wayne Financial.
Conflicting reports indicate that the first actor on the video is Ben Affleck, while the others (you can clearly see them) are stunt doubles. According to Samuel Otten, this particular scene happens in Metropolis, Superman’s home, not Gotham City, hence all the destroyed city vehicles. This is how Otten described what he saw on the set of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice:
“Several Bruce Wayne stand-in’s and stunt doubles were on set today. You can see them blocking out a scene involving the rescue of a small girl and the collapsing of a large piece of the Wayne Financial building. Based on city buses and police cars, this is presumed to be in Metropolis, not Gotham. I don’t know that any of these are Ben Affleck himself, but you can be the judge. At the very least, it’s definitely Bruce Wayne. I think Affleck may have come on later, after I had to leave.”
“If you have a sharp eye, you can also catch Zack Snyder in a dark gray t-shirt around 2:42 and elsewhere, such as running toward camera at the very end.”

Excellent reporting from the man who says he is an “assistant professor of mathematics education at the University of Missouri. He sometimes tweets about comic books after business hours” on his Twitter profile. Kudos for getting us this very sharp video of Bruce Wayne on the set of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Hopefully he sticks around.
