Ariana Grande Calls It Quits With Jai Brooks, Teases New Single “Love You Harder”

Could it finally be quits for good for Ariana Grande and Jai Brooks?

According to Us Weekly, the 21-year-old “Problems” songstress has broken it off with Jai Brooks for the second time and some are saying that this time it’s for good. A source close to the singer offered the following regarding the reasons for their recent split:

“It has not been an easy few months. Jai just wasn’t as supportive as he could have been.”

Ariana took to her Twitter page to post a series of updates alluding to the reason behind the break up between herself and the YouTube comedian:

“You learn a lot about love, life and the people around you during a time of crisis. July was painful for many reasons but of all the personal loss I suffered last month, the loss of my grandfather, a true gentleman, was the only one that truly mattered. I thank everybody who was here for me when I needed them as the ones who weren’t really broke my heart. August is about to be a beautiful, beautiful month. Looking forward to all the good coming up.”

Is there any hope for a make up after this most recent breakup with Jai Brooks? It looks like the fact that he didn’t show up for Ariana when her grandfather died was the final nail in the coffin, so to speak. An insider told the Hollywood Reporter:

“Jai’s too immature for her. He was too self-involved also and yes, she’s a total workhorse. All she wants to do is make meaningful music, focus also on family and helping her mom and Nona get through her grandpa’s death.”

Ariana is reportedly throwing herself into her work as she has an album release coming soon. Her second studio album is set to drop on August 22nd and the singer is in full promotion mode. On Monday, Ariana released a teaser for her new single “Love Me Harder” and it looks to be a steamy, upbeat dance track. The Hollywood Reporter notes that Grande’s new album is titled My Everything and is due for release on August 25th and features collaborations with Iggy Azalea, rapper Big Sean, and music producer Zedd. The album is currently available for pre-sale, which includes lots of goodies, through Grande’s website.
