WWE News: Hulk Hogan Returning To Raw Next Week, Role Growing In Lead-Up To SummerSlam

The WWE news is good this week for Hulk Hogan and the Hulkamaniacs waiting for his return to the ring.

As the buildup to SummerSlam begins, the WWE is looking to Hogan to build some excitement for its annual summer spectacular. The WWE had re-hired Hogan back in February so he could host WrestleMania XXX, and he followed up with two appearances on Raw in March.

Now, Hulk Hogan is geared up for is third Raw appearance, which he just announced will be August 11 in Portland, Oregon.

As The Inquisitr reported, Hogan may have been training for a comeback and reportedly wants one final match, taking on Superstar John Cena.

There is no official word yet on whether Hulk will wrestle, but he has been doing plenty of legwork for the WWE. He recently hit the road to Japan to help introduce new signee Kenta to the WWE and was also part of Sting’s appearance at Comic-Con in San Diego.

As Bleacher Report noted, Hulk Hogan’s upcoming Raw appearance could likely involve some in-ring action.

The report noted:

“Hogan’s return to Raw next Monday likely will be just another way to get him on TV and drive up ratings, but there is always a chance to get him involved with a storyline. With Jack Swagger set to square off against Rusev in a Flag Match at SummerSlam, what better way to infuse some excitement into the storyline than by having Hogan’s Real American theme song hit and have him support Swagger?”

The WWE is still getting plenty of marketing pull out of Hulk Hogan. Just a day after he confirmed his Raw appearance, the WWE announced he will be featured through the “HULKAMANIA” Edition of WWE(R) 2K15, the upcoming release in the flagship WWE video game franchise.

“Twenty-five years ago, I appeared in my very first WWE video game, and I’ve never been more excited than I am now to be part of this year’s game,” Hulk Hogan. in a press release. “I’ve got one thing left to say: whatcha gonna do when the WWE 2K15 ‘HULKAMANIA’ Edition, featuring the greatest of all time, runs wild on you, brother?”

So one way or another, WWE fans will see Hulk Hogan back in the ring very soon.
