‘Dracula Untold’ Kiss Between Luke Evans And Sarah Gadon Lasted ‘Hours’

As the name indicates, Darcula Untold is a never before seen story and it is not necessarily a horror story, but that of the love between two people that would do anything to protect each other and their family. Luke Evans (Fast & Furious 6, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies) and Sarah Gadon (The Amazing Spiderman 2) star in this new take of the old classic.

Sarah Gadon, who plays Mirena, the wife of Vlad Tepes, played by Luke Evans, had to kiss her co-star for hours. The good things was that they had really good chemistry from day one and Gadon didn’t have to see Evans for a couple of days after the kissing marathon.

Recently, Gadon revealed why the Dracula Untold story is different from what we are used to seeing regarding the Prince of Darkness. The 27-year-old actress also talked about the special relationship with the handsome Luke Evans.

“This film’s about the sacrifice a family makes to keep their love alive. I play Princess Mirena, who is married to Vlad, and they have a child together. It’s an epic action adventure that is also a love story.”

“When I screen tested with Luke, there was a natural chemistry between us. I knew it would be something really special. Which is lucky, as one day of filming was just ten hours of us kissing. Afterwards, we were like, ‘OK, I don’t have to see you for a day or two!'”

Fans of the Welsh actor will think that is no sacrifice, as he is becoming one of the most sought after leading men in Hollywood. Having started his movie career at a later age, after successfully spending about 10-years in musical theater in London’s West End, Luke Evans has a very eclectic resume thus far and does everything in his power not to be type-cast.

The 35-year-old actor, who is featured on the cover of Total Film magazine wearing his Dracula Untold costume, summed up how he felt about this interesting take on the vampire classic, “We’re telling a different story, vampire films aren’t really my cup of tea!”

“It’s a historical epic first and foremost,” adds director Gary Shore. “There are scares and elements of horror in there, but it’s more of a journey story, an action adventure with a big historical backdrop…”

Joining Luke Evans and Sarah Gadon are Dominic Cooper, Charles Dance, Zach McGowan, and Ronan Vibert. Dracula Untold opens in theaters on October 17.
