Could ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ Include Robin After All?

The rumor mill is churning when it comes to all things Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. On set photos have been popping up on social media, since the production moved to downtown Detroit, the past two days. The latest talk is that Robin will make some kind of appearance.

As reported earlier by The Inquisitr, some more details from the storyline have surfaced. Badass Digest’s Devin Faraci’s sources suggest that Batman is in his 50s and has been fighting evil forces for about 20 years. However, Batman News states that the Caped Crusader is in his 40s, much like 42-year-old Ben Affleck (at the time of his controversial casting, director Zack Snyder said he was looking for a “more mature” Batman).

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is said to be inspired on The Dark Knight Returns. With that in mind, Faraci says Batfleck has been “a quieter operator, not involved in blockbuster battles but in all sorts of badass vigilantism.” And he hasn’t been working alone, that’s where the rumor about Robin comes in.

“In this version Batman is still an urban legend, a creature of the night, and no one has ever taken his picture. But he’s had plenty of adventures, and the Batcave includes a memorial centered around a tattered Robin costume.”

The website Unleash the Fanboy speculates that this interesting fact could mean one of two things. Either Dick Grayson left his damaged costume intact when he became Nightwing or the memorial is to honor Jason Todd and after losing more than one partner, Batman is back to working alone. That seems to be the premise for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, especially if a Batman spin-off is in the works. A haunted Batman is some of what we have seen from Batfleck thus far.

Of course, this is all speculation at this point and nobody besides Zack Snyder and Co. know exactly what will and will not be included in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. While there is no firm word on Robin or Nightwing, the batcave details could be an indication that something is going on with that character, even a hint that it may make an appearance in Justice League.

All this sounds very cool as Snyder’s production moves forward, we have photos of destruction for both, Metropolis — where Superman lives — and Gotham City, the Dark Knight’s home. And by the way, sightings of Jason Momoa, training alongside Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), leads many to believe that Aquaman will have a cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
