Jay Z and Beyonce Still ‘On The Run,’ But Their Marriage May Be On Its Last Leg

Beyonce and Jay Z are certainly a power couple when it comes to fame and musical success, but rumors persist that their marriage may be in deep trouble.

Break-up rumors started with the infamous “elevator” altercation between Jay Z and Beyonce’s sister Solange Knowles. The incident, which involved sister Solange physically attacking Jay Z in the elevator of The Standard Hotel in New York happened back in May, and sparked a lot of speculation on what drove Beyonce’s sister to actual physical violence. Beyonce herself recently addressed the so-called “elevator brawl” in the release of her song “Flawless,” singing that “Of course sometimes s**t goes down when there’s a billion dollars on an elevator.”

Then, in July, Beyonce sent a not-so-subtle hint that Jay Z has been cheating on her during a live performance for the couple’s “On the Run” tour. During her rendition of “Resentment,” which is already a song about being lied to and cheated on, Beyonce changed a few key words and phrases that suddenly made the song seem very personal…and current. Most startlingly,the song’s lyrics “Been ridin’ with you for six years” were changed to “12 years.” It seems to be no coincidence that she and Jay Z have been together for – you guessed it – 12 years.

Beyonce also changed the line “Like I couldn’t do it for you like your mistress could” to the more angry and personal “Like I couldn’t do it for you like that wack b*tch could.”

Furthermore, Beyonce and Jay Z aren’t just sleeping in separate hotel rooms during their “On the Run” tour – they are now actually booking separate hotels and arriving to the show before their performances separately, as well. In fact, sources claim that there is a real concern that the marriage between Jay Z and Beyonce may completely dissolve before their incredibly successful tour ends. The source claimed that the tour, which should bring a paycheck of an estimated $100 million to Beyonce and Jay Z “may not make it to San Francisco. I’m definitely not sure that they’ll make it to Paris.”

Last Thursday, Jay Z, Beyonce, at least four lawyers, as well as the “On The Run” concert promoter Live Nation and HBO held a meeting to attempt to address the escalating issues the couple’s marriage is facing during the middle of their tour. According to the New York Post, the executives wanted to release a statement – in fact, that was one of the major reasons behind the emergency session – but no statement was released…because neither Jay Z or Beyonce could agree on what it should say.

Beyonce was also recently spotted apartment-hunting in the Chelsea-district of Manhattan, signaling that although Jay Z has made it clear that he was this marriage to work, especially for the sake of their 2-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, Beyonce herself may be more than ready to move on.
