A Beyonce and Jay Z concert at the Rose Bowl got out of hand for some concertgoers on Saturday night, leaving one man without a part of his finger.
The two-day Beyonce and Jay Z concert initially caused some concern for the Pasadena Police Department because of traffic congestion concerns. Concertgoers were advised to come early and to be patient when leaving the Rose Bowl Stadium, but no one could have predicted the troubles that some faced that night at the concert.
Pasedena Star-News reported that the Beyonce and Jay Z concert had an estimated 55,000 fans, but 11 of those people were arrested for varying crimes. Those crimes included mostly public drunkenness and a few instances of ticket scalping.
However, those problems were very minor compared to the horrifying incident that quickly escalated into a brawl that left one man without his fingertip.
Roberto Alcaraz-Garnica, a 25-year-old man from San Diego, is accused of groping a woman and then fighting with her boyfriend. Alcaraz-Garnica allegedly bit the tip of one of the boyfriend’s fingers off during the fight at the Beyonce and Jay Z concert.
“The suspect sexually assaulted the female victim,” Pasadena police Lt. John Luna said.
After Alcaraz-Garnica groped the female’s breasts at the concert, the female’s boyfriend confronted him.
“During the altercation, the suspect bit the victim, causing serious injury to his finger,” Luna remarked. “He lost the tip of one of his fingers.”
Police arrested Roberto at the Beyonce and Jay Z concert around 10 pm and took him to the Pasadena Police Department’s jail. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail until his first court appearance for sexual battery and biting the man’s fingertip off.
According to NBC Los Angeles, the alleged groper faces charges of sexual battery and mayhem, which is legally defined as disfiguring or disabling apart of the victim’s person.
No more information was available about the man’s condition whose fingertip was bitten off at the Beyonce and Jay Z concert.
