Dianna Agron Not So Full Of Glee In Sam Smith Video, ‘I’m Not The Only One’

Dianna Agron is best known for her role as Quinn Fabray on Glee. Since leaving Glee, Dianna Fabray has worked on various projects and is succeeding in dodging the typecast curse as she comes into her own in Hollywood.

Agron’s latest foray into acting has taken her into the world of music videos, specifically Sam Smith’s music video for “I’m Not The Only One.” Due to Dianna Agron’s musical past in Glee. you might expect her to sing backup or a duet with Sam Smith. However, “I’m Not The Only One” is more than merely a music video, it is also an emotional glimpse into the life of a woman that has been cheated on.

Dianna plays the role of a woman who is being cheated on in the video. Spin Magazine’s Dan Reilly summed up the video perfectly.

“Sam Smith’s “I’m Not the Only One” is one heck of a bummer, what with its not-so-subtle lyrics about infidelity wrecking a relationship. Well, now the British crooner has released a video for the In the Lonely Hour track, with Glee’s Dianna Agron and The Mindy Project’s Chris Messina starring as a couple whose marriage is disintegrating thanks to his cheating. The plot is pretty simple — she stays home crying while he goes to a bar to meet his mistress. While Smith performs in the saloon, they get busy in the bathroom, and the wife takes a trip to the store to pick up supplies for her revenge.”

Ahmed Humayun of I4U news shared more about Sam’s Smith’s style and Dianna Agron‘s performance.

“22 year old Smith is known for his emotional ballads with intensity such as this and this video from the British singer is just as heartbreaking as its lyrics. Messina plays the husband who is secretly stepping out on his wife and Dianna Agron perfectly portrays this devoted wife who is just sitting there and soaking herself in tears. As Messina has the time of his life with another woman in the bar, the distraught Agron cries at home. But things ultimately take a different turn as the devoted Agron decides it is time to stop sulking over her cheating husband and in a flash of anger sets fire to her husband’s things.”

Dianna Argon’s performance in the video, along with the rest of the cast, was directed by Luke Monaghan. Luke has worked with Sam Smith before on “Leave Your Lover.”
