Kathy Griffin Abuses Heckler With Oral Sex Reference: CNN goes upmarket in 2009

kathy-griffin-cnn

Rarely funny, always trashy comedian Kathy Griffin somehow managed to land a gig this year co-hosting CNN’s New Years Eve coverage from New York with the very queer straight laced Anderson Cooper. Why we don’t know: times must be really tough, and not surprisingly, she couldn’t keep her mouth out of trouble.

Along with cutting of Lil Wayne and giving Cooper a generally hard time, Griffin was according to reports regularly heckled by the crowd, and just before a break, let fly at one heckler….all on open mic.

Here’s the Kathy Griffin goes oral sex on CNN clip as follows; apparently the heckler has to have dicks out of his mouth…or something like that ;-) Keep it classy Kathy.

  1. I saw Kathy Griffin with my wife last year in Cupertino. Boring and not funny.

Yet, I can't convince my wife to stop polluting our TiVo with her. Can't win them all! Good thing we have two TiVos.

  2. More importantly, WTF is that on her head?!

  3. LOL…ahhhh, that Kathy Griffin, what a class act….. I wonder if A Coop was offended by the gay remark….?!

  4. She's terrible. The next person to put her on TV should be strapped to a chair and have “mouth breather” tattooed on their forehead.

Yeah, Kathy's choice of wording was unfortunately poor in the heat of the moment [and, btw, it wasn't necessarily a gay comment; people of other sexual orientations put dicks in their mouths, too, and the gender of her hecklers is unknown]… but it was her misjudgment about whether or not her mic was still “live” or not after the camera had cut to another sequence that did her in. Aside from the “dick” blooper, Anderson and Kathy were questionably funny but palatable. My beef is with CNN's poor new year's coverage overall — again, this is major network TV with millions watching, can't CNN show us better programming than constant boring shots of Times Square as it empties out after the crowds left? Rather lame interviews on the street in Times Square by a reporter who can't handle the crowds (and/or appeared not to be backed up by any CNN support staff at all in dealing with and getting around in the crowds)? A few little-known bands playing in cities of little note? A bunch of crowds standing around doing next to nothing on Bourbon St and in Florida? Come on, CNN, you can do better. Ok, I'll step off my soap box. Happy New Year! 2009 is going to be better than anyone can imagine!

I have never understood how she continues to get spots on our tv's. A piece of trash is all she is.

  7. There are many people out there (Anderson Cooper included from what he said leading up to this evening) that actually enjoys Kathy Griffin. CNN knows what they are getting with her. Her show on Bravo is full of foul-mouthed 'bleeps” so it was up to CNN to use a delay. In this case, Anderson had already thrown it to the commercial break, so it was up to the producers and people in charge to turn off mics. You can't put all the blame on the comedian who is known for this kind of talk.

  8. This is a bogus article!! Get your facts straight!

It wasn't hecklers it was people who were praising her as they walked by and if you watched the whole program you would hear Anderson Cooper comment how the crowd loves her and she was making it up.

Comedy people! Bring the New Year in with a laugh. I love it!

Love Kathy Griffen. Refreshing among all of the stiff collars that are so dreadfully boring. As she says in her act, “the rest of you can suck it”.

  10. This was hilarious. You also wrote the article as a bit misleading or missing a few facts. She didn't land the gig this year. She did this gig last year too.

Why do you think they brought her back?

  11. I have to agree with any normal person with a normal IQ, she's NOT funny, ever. But what's ironic is, that comment was actually funny.
